Security plan for Eid- Milad-unnabi

MULTAN,Feb 14th:City police has finalised a security plan for the upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) under which more than 4,000 police officers and officials will be deployed to avoid any untoward incident in the ancient city of Multan, it has learnt.
Those deployed include highly trained snipers on rooftops of buildings located adjacent to important public places such as mosques, government installations, buildings and offices in different parts of Multan.The police department has additionally called the Elite Police Force, Mujahid Force, and Quick Response Force along with personnel in plainclothes from intelligence agencies for round the clock patrolling in all sensitive areas. The personnel deputed at city’s police stations are also directed to keep a vigilant eye on all crowded places situated in their respective jurisdiction.
 City Police Officer (CPO)Multan Dilawar Abbas said that a foolproof security plan to maintain law and order in the city during the upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi should be maintained. He ordered special surveillance and checking of all hotels, inns, bus and wagon stands to ward of any possibility of subversion.
He further directed making effective arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the occasion. CPO said that the Multan police would remain on high alert in order to maintain peaceful atmosphere and harmony in the city.He held a meeting of senior police officers on Monday, in which security arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) were reviewed and its monitoring was discussed in detail. He was informed that all entry and exit points of the city would be covered. He said that crisis management centres have been established in the city, which would function round the clock, while a special control room has also been set up in the office of the CPO for coordination between various agencies. Tareen further said that in order to maintain peaceful atmosphere and harmony in the provincial capital during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), a comprehensive security plan has been chalked out after consultation with leaders and notables of the city.
The CPO directed the divisional SPs to personally check the force deployment and patrolling of mobile squads in their respective areas. He said that he would inspect the security arrangements himself.
