Prime Minister approved Board of directors for MEPCO & Other companies
MULTAN,Feb 8th: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has approved the reconstitution of Board of Directors of All theEight power sector distribution companies (DISCOs) alongwith National Transmission Despatch (NTDC)company
under power sector reforms process, the government on Monday notified the reconstitution of Board of Directors (BoDs) of eight power distribution companies.Moreover, the government has advised all CEOs of power sector distribution companies as well as NTDC to obtain consent of each nominated director and fulfill all codal formalities under Companies Act - 1984 for convening the Board.The BoD members of the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) are: Mohammad Fawad – Fatima Group of Industries, Shahid Naseem Khokhar, President Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dr Mujahid Ali, Head of Commerce Department BZU, Khalid Masood, Renowned Poet and Columnist, Madam Rahat Multaniker D/O renowned folk singer Suraiyya Multaniker Lecturer English Department Govt Girls College, Multan / Social Activist, Aamir Haroon Tangwani Chartered Accountant , Dean University College of Engineering & Technology Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Noor ul Haque Jhandir Mailsi, Agricultrist, Rabia Gurmani Farmers Association, CEO MEPCO, Joint Secretary -(Power) Ministry of Water and Power, Representative of CCOR, and Member Privatization Commission Board.No representation was given to Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association, All Pakistan Bedsheets & Upholstry Manufacturers Association(APBUMA) and powerlooms sector.
