PIA PILOTS STRIKE,ALL FLIGHTS SUSPENDED
MULTAN,Feb 8th: Multan airport remained close on Tuesday due to the strike of Pilots and other staff .
District Manager PIA Baqar Naqvi said," PIA head quarter is making alternate arrangements to keep continue the flight operation on domestic as well as international routes,: He said that domestic and Dubai flights suspended on Tuesday and airport remained closed.When contacted the CAA Multan authorities confirmed the closure of Multan ,Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahimyarkhan airports in South Punjab .Scores of passengers who had to leave for United Arab Emirates, Canada, andEuropean countries could not depart from Multan.Some of them were worry about their jobs because foreign employers are not ready to grant any concession to them.Protesting staff of the Pakistan International Airline has ceased the flights going to Frankfurt and Bangkok, at the Benazir International Airport Islamabad. Police was called at the airport to maintain law and order. A Dubai-bound flight was also evicted at the Quetta airport. PIA employees were protesting for last night at the Benazir International Airport against the sacking of pilots and sale of PIA routes to a Turkish airline. The protesters did not let any plane to take off from the airport.
