MULTAN, Feb 5th: More than 2000 male and female activists of Jamaat Islami , PML-N, Kashmiri organizations on Saturday organized rallies . One minute silence was observed at 10:00 am and
a human chain was formed to express solidarity with the people of Indian Held Kashmir. Sirens were blared and traffic also remained suspended for one minute. Political and religious parties and Kashmiri outfits organized ten rallies only in Multan Female activists of Jamaat Islami took out a rally and burnt the flags of India and United States to express their anger .Similarly Muslim League-N female activists also organized a rally. Male activists also held Kashmir Conference and seminars besides organizing the rallies in the city. They were shouting slogans against the India Government for its atrocious activities in held Kashmir. They demanded for implementation of UN resolution to restore the right of self determination. All segments of the society including political and religious parties observed “Kashmir Solidarity Day” to reiterate full solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir in their just and principled struggle for freedom from unlawful Indian subjugation and to reach to the ultimate destination of achieving right to self determination . Political, religious parties, non-governmental organisations, students, labour organisations, legal fraternity and youth in Multan held rallies, public meetings, seminars and walks to express solidarity with the Kashmiris as well as to apprise the international community the atrocities of Indian security forces on unarmed Kashmiris in the Held Valley and to press the world powers to influence New Delhi for implementing the United Nations resolutions in Occupied Kashmir, as Kashmiris did not want to live with India.
It is to mention that Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed on February 5 each year since 1990, as a day of protest against Indian occupation of Held Kashmir and to apprise the world about India’s indifferent attitude regarding United Nations resolutions relating to Held Valley’s status.
