MULTAN,Oct 30th:Federal Minister for Labour and manpower Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah said,"we have signed a MOU with Saudi Government for establishing a technical institute in Islamabad with an expenditure of Rs.800 million to train at least 1500 youth per annum and providing them job on its projects.Similarly some other companies have planned to establish training schools & colleges in 12 cities of the country.Deliverimg his speech at Press Club's Programme "Guftago" chaired by A.Shakil Anjum, Khurshid Ahmed Shah said that we had desptached 4,30,000 job seekers to different countries and this year another batch of 4,10,000 skilled workers was being sent to gulf states. He said that now remittances had increased to 9 billion dollars from 5.5 billion.He said that we had regularised the services of 1,50,000 contract workers in PIA, Pakistan Steelk, USC, Railway, WAPDA etc.He said that allegation of Sajjad Haider Advocate that lawyers were purchased against Rs.900 million was tantamount to harm the respect ,dignity and prestige of even senior lawyers. Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah has said the Pakistan People’s Party will continue its efforts to protect and strengthen democratic institutions in the country. He said the PPP had sacrificed a lot for democracy and it would continue its efforts.He said the PPP would work hard for eradication of poverty from society, adding that no other party could facilitate labour class as the PPP did. He said workers were being given partnership in government organizations and poor women of areas where dams were being built would be given free government land and youths of the areas would be provided with employment.
He said that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed had followed the mission of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed and PPP workers were following the mission of BB Shaheed under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari.He assured that government was working for repealing the Company Ordinance 27/B and it would soon be presented in parliament
