Women face violence in Pakistan

 Justice (r) Dr Nasira Javed Iqbal said 99 per cent house hold and 77 per cent working women are suffering from violence. She said we must concentrate on educating to save them from violence. She called upon that in all policy making institutions 33 per cent women’s representation should be ensured. “Only 4 per cent people have captured all the national resources which is a big cause to bent upon male on torturing women at homes”, she added. She said women should help each other in minimising their problems.
Provincial Secretary Human Rights and Minority Affairs Arshad Bin Ahmed said women’s problem was a big challenge and we should strive hard to extend rights to women folk as per Quran and Sunnah.
He said it was our collective responsibility to work for the betterment of ladies and institutions like APWA rendering great services for this noble cause.
President APWA Punjab Ms Rohi Syed said in providing education, health and other facilities to women, APWA was playing a historical role for the last century. She said as per charter of UNO we must ensure women participation in all other development process. She said this International Women Day demands for striving hard for justice and fair play with women folk in the society.
Focal person of ‘bytes for all’ Shehzad Ahmed presented a report on violence against women through computer and internet and called upon ladies to be aware of new techniques of harassing them.
Public Relations Association constituted: Public Relations Professionals of Government Departments and private organisations have established an institution by the name of Public Relations Association on Tuesday.
In its initial meeting following persons have been unanimously elected as office-bearers, Dr Nadeemul Hassan President, Malik Kamran Senior Vice President, Syed Ali Bukhari, Vice President, Syed Arif General Secretary, Fatima Manzer Additional General Secretary Ehsan Ghani Information Secretary and Maher Abdul Rauf Joint Secretary.
