MUJ Elections
MULTAN,March 2nd: Mazhar Khan of Daily Express and Chaudhry Muhammad Arashad of "AAJ TV" have been elected President and General Secretary of Multan Union of Journalists (MUJ)on Wednesday's election held under the supervision of a committeee comprising Abdul Sattar Qamar,Razi-uddin Razi and Shehzad Faisal. Mazhar Khan (Express)bagged 128 votes and defeated Khabrain's Rana Pervez Hameed with the margin of merely ten votes in very close contest.Total 250 out of 266 votes were cast.General Secretary Muhammad Arshad Chaudhry got 127 votes and his opponent Agha ShahidAzeem of Pakistan got109 votes. Ahmed Raza Buzdar of Geo and Rao Asad of Jang were elected as Senior Vice President and Vice President.by bagging 122 and 113 votes respectively.They defeated Naya Daur's Aatif Anwar Baig and Nadeem Iqbal Ansari of Safeer-i-Punjab, Izhar Ali Abbasi of Nawa-i-Waqt, Iqbal Haraj of Nawa-i-Waqt were elected Assistant Secretaries by bagging 144 Votes Mehmood Ahmed Chaudhry of Karnama was returned as Cashier by bagging 128 votes. Executive Committee: Fazeel Sahu ,(160) H.A.Nawaz(106), Mansoor Abbas(126),Shakil Javed(126)Adnan Farooq Qureshi (135),Riaz Baloch(111) ,Shadab Anwar(129) and Muhammad Saeed Makwal (108). Eleven delegates: Ijaz Khan Tareen(!54 votes) Masih-ullah Khan Jampuri (153)Shakil Ahmed of Dawn (133) ,Abdul Qadar Yousafi(120),Iqbal Mubarak (116), Khwaja Ashraf Siddiqui (128), Muhammad Nawaz Bhatti(127),Ajmal Chaudhry (Khabrain),Gauhar Javed (Nayadaur)(121), Dil Muhammad Khan (123)and Tahir Nadeem (115)
