JAPAN-FIRE AT NUCLEAR PLANT APPEARS

TOKYO: A fire which broke out Tuesday at a quake-hit Japanese nuclear plant has apparently been extinguished, Kyodo News and other media quoted the power station operator as saying.The fire broke out earlier in the day following an explosion in the building housing the number-four reactor of the Fukushima No. 1 plant, 250 kilometres (155 miles) northeast of Tokyo.
