Eid Milad-un-nabi celebrated in Multan on Wednesday

MULTAN,Feb 17th:Eid-e-Miladun Nabi was celebrated amid tight security in Multan where Major procession was taken out by
Gilani family's Anjuman Islamia from Daulat gate which was led by Syed Tanveer-ul-Hassan Gilani, Syed Wajahat Hussain Gilani, Syed Yazdani Gilani, Syed Ahmed Mujtuba Gillani younger brother of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Mukhdoom Javed Hashmi,MNA  and Babu Nafees Ansari Ex-MPA.Several rallies were taken out to mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) here on Wednesday.Four main rallies were taken out from Daulat gate, Pak gate, Hussain Agahi and Shoukat Hussain Kinder Garden School. Anjuman-e-Islamia Multan, Anjuman-e-Tajran, Multan Auto Rikshaw Drivers Union also took out rallies besides hundreds of others.
Thousands of people across the city and its suburbs gathered in Clock Tower Chowk. The whole city was echoing with Darood-u-Salam on the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).Ulema, including Mualana Farooq Saeedi, Mualana Ata Ullah, Dr Siddique Qadri and others highlighted different aspects of the life of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).Rescue 1122, Civil Defence squad, Elite force, Police force, Fire Brigade and other departments concerned and volunteers discharged their duties.
City police officer Syed Dilawar Abas and other officers monitored the different routes to check security situation.In this connection, high security alert had been declared in the sensitive areas of Multan and its adjacent localities to avert possible terrorism on this day of festivity. Inspite of all security measures, A scuffle was occurred between two groups at Hussain Agahi Chowk.However no other untoward incident was reported.District Coordination Officer (DCO) Multan had imposed section 144 in the city and banned pillion riding on routs of processions, near the processions and in other areas of public gatherings. They said plainclothes police were deployed around the processions. All SPs, SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to ensure thorough checking of all vehicles moving along the routes of Eid-e-Milad processions to avoid any untoward incident.Entire city was decorated with colourful buntings, green flags,and all buildings were illuminated at night.
