8 TERRORISTS OF BANNED OUTFIT HELD
MULTAN,Feb 12th:Multan Police have arrested eight alleged terrorists belonging to a banned extremist outfit" Lashkar-e-Jhangvi"from Jalalpur pirwala who had planned to attack Mid-Country Oil refinery, to hit the Cobra helicopters,installations of army and Government offices.
CPO Dilawar Abbas said,"We have arrested eight activists of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Tehrik Taliban and foiled their plot to bring a destruction in Southern Punjab by hitting oil refinery,cobra choppers and installations of armed forces," They are identified as Muhammad Ibrahim, Umer Ahmed, Abid Ali alias Mufti, Shabbir Ahmed, Abdul Latif, Muhammad Ahmed, Muhammad Shafiq and Muhammad Naseer.Addressing a press conference CPO Dilawar Abbas said that Multan narrowly escaped devastation as important personalities,sensitive installations like Army aviation base, Shershah Oil-depot and Mid country oil-refinery were on their hit list. Out of eight ,three accused were sent to prison on judicial remand while five others are in police custody on physical remand.Giving details of ammnunition seized from their possession ,the CPO told that three rockets missiles, five 7-RPG rockets,six hand grenades, six chargers,12 fuses,two pistols, two klashinkovs SSP operation Malik Muhammad Yousaf said that they had buried the ammunition at the brink of river Sutlej, and they were engaged in dumping the ammunition for the last two months.CPO said that credit went to Malik Yousaf and Sp Karamat Malik who had monitored the suspicious activities of Ibrahim, Umair and Abid at the eastern bank of the river in Jalalpur pirwala.Then they were taken into custody.Later their five accomplices were also held.
